Mrs. Nabors

“Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.”
―
Charles William Eliot

I come from a long line of teachers. My grandmother was a teacher, my mother taught art at the middle school, high school, and college level, and my older sister teaches 1st grade at a charter school in Denver, CO. It is safe to say that educating runs in my family. I have a Bachelor's in English with a focus in Literature and Cultural Studies from the University of Phoenix. I am currently working on my Masters in Education with an emphasis in Reading from Northern Arizona University.

I am the English Language Arts teacher for Jr. High again this year. I am passionate about this subject and am excited to share this enthusiasm with my students. We have a great, challenging curriculum this year which has many interesting texts, which I think will get the kids excited to read and learn more!

Outside of my school life, I enjoy hiking with my husband and our three dogs. We also breed and keep several species of reptiles. Mr. J and I have brought several of our animals in to share with the students and have created engaging lessons around them. I love to read and travel when I have free time, and learning is my passion.

I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you and your kids this year!
